6.HaverefrigerantevacuatedfromairconditioningsystembyacertiedA/C
servicetechnician.
7.Labelandremovehosesfromcompressor.Immediatelycaphosesand
ttingstopreventmoistureandcontaminantsfromenteringthesystem.
8.Supportcompressortopreventitfromshiftingorfalling.
Note:Theremaybeshimsmountedbetweenthecompressormounting
angesandthecompressormount.Whenremovingcompressor,noteshim
locationandquantityforassemblypurposes.
9.Removecapscrews,lockwashers,atwashersandhexnutsthatsecure
compressortocompressormount.
IMPORTANT
Topreventcompressoroilfromllingthecompressorcylinders,
keepcompressorinthesameorientationastheinstalledposition.
10.Carefullyremovecompressorfromengineandmachine.
Note:ThereplacementoftheA/Cdrier−receiverisrecommendedwhenever
A/Ccompressorisservicedorreplaced.
Note:TheairconditioningcompressorusedontheGroundsmaster5910isa
SandenmodelSD5H09.Forairconditioningcompressorrepairprocedures,
seetheSandenSDCompressorServiceGuide

Installation(Figure342)
1.Positioncompressortocompressormountonmachineframe.
2.Theclearancebetweenthecompressormountingangesandthe
compressormountmustbelessthan0.10mm(0.004in).Ifnecessary,install
shimsbetweencompressorangesandmounttoadjustclearance.
3.Securecompressortocompressormountwithremovedcapscrews,washers
andhexnuts.
IMPORTANT
Afterthecompressorhasbeeninstalled,makesuretorotatethe
compressordriveshaftseveraltimestoproperlydistributeoilinthe
compressor.Compressordamageduetooilsluggingcanoccurif
thisprocedureisnotperformed.
4.Manuallyrotatethecompressordriveshaftatleastten(10)revolutionsto
makesurethatnocompressoroilisinthecompressorcylinders.
5.InstalldrivebelttoA/Ccompressorpulley(see24VoltAlternator/Air
ConditioningCompressorDriveBelt(page6–147)).
