Testing
CAUTION
Beawareofandkeepawayfromrotatingpartsduringtest.Donot
wearlooseclothingwhileworkingnearrotatingpartsasthesemay
becomeentangledandcausepersonalinjury.
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdecks,engagetheparking
brake,leavetheenginerunningandopenthehood.
Note:Theenginemustberunning,nocoolantorhydraulicoiltemperature
warningscanbeactiveandtheparkingbrakeneedstobeengagedoran
operatormustbeintheseatforfanoverrideordemomodestobeoperational.
Note:Thehydraulicoilcoolerfanswilloperateatmaximumspeedifa
hydraulicoiltemperaturesenderfaultisactive.
2.UsetheInfoCenterdisplaytoentereitherFanOverrideModeorFanDemo
Mode(seeSERVICE(page6–14)).
IfFanOverrideModeisselected,usetheInfoCentertomanuallycontrolthe
radiatorcoolingfansand/orthehydraulicoilcoolerfansdirectionandspeed.
Whenoperatinginthereversedirection,theselectedfanswilloperatefor
approximatelysix(6)seconds,pauseforapproximatelynine(9)seconds
andrepeat.
IfFanDemoModeisselected,thefollowingfanoperatingsequencewill
beginautomatically:
A.Radiatorfansatmaximumspeedinforwarddirectionandhydraulicoil
coolerfansatmaximumspeedinforwarddirectionforoneminute.
B.Radiatorfansatmaximumspeedinreversedirectionandhydraulicoil
coolerfansatmaximumspeedinforwarddirectionforoneminute.
C.Radiatorfansatmaximumspeedinreversedirectionandhydraulicoil
coolerfansatmaximumspeedinreversedirectionforoneminute.
D.Radiatorfansatmaximumspeedinforwarddirectionandhydraulicoil
coolerfansatmaximumspeedinreversedirectionforoneminute.
E.Repeat.
3.Cancelfanoverrideorfandemomodeandreturntothepreviousscreenby
pressingbutton5orbyturningthekeyswitchtoOFF.
4.Ifonefaninthepanelisnotoperatingcorrectly,exchangethefanconnections
atthemachinewireharnessandre−enterDemoFanMode.Iftheproblem
remainsunchanged,aproblemwiththefanislikely.Iftheproblemfollows
theexchange,orbothfansinthepaneldonotoperatecorrectly,something
otherthanthefanisatfault(e.g.wireharnessorconnectors).
5.Useaphototach(non−contacttachometer)tocomparetheRPMofeachfan
inapanel.Thefansspeedsshouldbewithin100RPMofeachotherwhen
operatingatmaximumspeed.
6.Replacethefanasnecessary.
7.Inspectandrepairorreplaceanywornordamagedfoamsealsoneither
sideofthecoolingfanpanels.
