RemovingtheFuelTank(continued)

5.Removethe3socket-headscrewsthatattachthettingcover(item1in

Figure18)tothefueltank,andremovethettingcover(item1inFigure

18)fromthefueltank.

6.Disconnectthesenderpowerwire(blue/red)andsendergroundwire(black)

fromthefuelsenderinthefueltank(items1and2inFigure19).

7.Labelthefuelhosestoensurethatthehosesarecorrectlyassembled.

8.Disconnectthefuelhosesfromthefuel-supplystandpipe(item3inFigure

18),returnstandpipe(item4inFigure18),andvent-elbowtting(item6in

Figure18)atthetopofthefueltank(Figure19).

9.Removethefuellinesfromundertheclamps(item13inFigure18)that

supportthefuellinesadjacenttothestandpipes.

Note:Ifnecessary,removetheplugsandclampsfromthetopofthetank.

10.Removethe2ange-headscrewsand2angenutsthatattachthetank

hold-down(item11inFigure18)totheframe,andremovethetank

hold-down.

11.Slidethefueltankoutfromtheleftsideofthemachineandremovethetank.

Note:Ifnecessary,removethestandpipes,elbowbushings,andfuelsender

fromthetank.

InstallingtheFuelTank

1.Ifthestandpipes,elbowbushings,andfuelsenderwereremovedfromthe

fueltank,installthestandpipes,bushings,andsenderintothetank.

2.Slidethefueltankinwardfromtheleftsideofthemachine(Figure18).

3.Alignthetankhold-down(item11inFigure18)tothefueltankandframe

ofthemachine.

4.Assemblethetankhold-downtothefueltankandmachineframewiththe2

ange-headscrewsand2angenuts.

5.Routethefuel-supplyandfuel-returnhosesundertheclampsatthetop

ofthetank.

6.Assemblethefuel-supplyhosesontothefuel-supplystandpipe,fuel-return

hosesontothereturnstandpipe,andventhoseontothevent-elbowtting

thatyoumarked.

7.Installthehoseclampsontothehosesandtightentheclampsbyhand.

8.Connecttheelectricalwiringtothefuelsenderasfollows:

A.Connecttheblue/redwiretothecenterterminalofthefuelsender(Figure

18).

B.Connecttheblackwiretoanyscrewthatsecuresthefuelsendertothe

fueltank

C.Applybatteryterminalprotector(ToroPartNo.107-0392)tothewire

terminalconnectionsforcorrosionprotection.

9.Alignthettingcovertothefueltankandattachthecovertothetankwiththe

3socket-headscrews(Figure18).
