•Donotsmokewhilellingthefueltank.
•Donotllthefueltankwhiletheengineisrunning,hot,orwhenthemachineisin
anenclosedarea.
•Alwaysllthefueltankoutsideandwipeupanyspilleddieselfuelbeforestarting
theengine.
•Storefuelinaclean,safety-approvedcontainerandkeepthecapinplace.
•Usedieselfuelasanenginefuelonly,notforanyotherpurpose.
CheckingtheFuelLinesandConnections
Checkthefuellinesandconnectionsatthemaintenanceintervalsrecommended
intheOperator'sManual.Checkthelinesfordeterioration,damage,leaks,or
looseconnections.Replacethehoses,clamps,andconnectionsasnecessary.
DrainingandCleaningtheFuelTank
Drainandcleanthefueltankatthemaintenanceintervalsrecommendedinthe
Operator'sManual.Ifthefuelsystembecomesdirtyorifthemachineisstored
foranextendedperiod,drainandcleanthefueltank.
Tocleanthefueltank,ushthetankoutwithcleandieselfuel.Ensurethatthe
fueltankisfreeofcontaminationandunwantedmaterial.
RemovingtheFuelTank
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdecks,shutoffthe
engine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Blocktherearwheelswithchocksandliftthefrontofthemachinewithajack.
Supportthemachinewithjackstands.
3.Removethefrontleftwheelinordertoremovethefueltank.
4.Transferthefuelfromthefueltankwithafueltransferpumpintoasuitable
container.
