RemovingthePlanetaryDriveAssembly(continued)
2.Drainoilfromtheplanetarydrive/brakeassembly.
3.Blocktherearwheelswithchockstopreventthemachinefrommoving.
CAUTION
Failingtoproperlysupportthemachinewithjackstandscancause
themachinetomoveorfallandcanresultinpersonalinjury.
Properlysupportthemachinewithjackstands.
Whenchangingtheattachments,tires,orperformingotherservices,
dothefollowingsteps:
Usecorrectblocks,hoists,andjackstoliftandsupportthe
machine.
Parkthemachineonasolidlevelsurface,suchasaconcrete
oor.
Beforeyouliftthemachine,removealltheattachmentsthat
mayinterferewiththesafeandcorrectliftofthemachine.
Alwaysblockthewheelswithchocks.
Useappropriatejackstandstosupporttheraisedmachine.
4.Liftthefrontofthemachinewithajack.Supportthemachinewithappropriate
jackstands;refertoJackingInstructions(page1–5).
5.Removethefrontwheelassembly.
6.Removethehydraulicwheelmotor;refertoRemovingtheFrontWheel
Motors(page4–121).
7.Removethebrakeassembly;refertoRemovingtheBrakeAssembly(page
6–7).
8.Supporttheplanetaryassemblytopreventtheassemblyfromfalling.Loosen
andremovethe6ange-headscrewsthatattachtheplanetaryassemblyto
theframe.Removetheplanetaryassemblyfromthemachine.
9.Removeanddiscardthegasket(item7inFigure302).
Note:Ensurethatallthegasketmaterialandsealantisremovedfromthe
brakeandplanetaryassemblies.
InstallingthePlanetaryWheelDriveAssembly
1.Positiontheplanetaryassemblytothemachineframe.Installthe6
ange-headscrewsthatattachtheplanetaryassemblytotheframe.
ForOPH-2seriesplanetarydrives:tightenscrewsto81N∙m(60ft-lb).
ForVA02seriesplanetarydrives:tightenscrewsfrom101to115N∙m
(75to85ft-lb).
2.ApplytheLoctitegasketsealant#2(orequivalent)tothesealingsurfaces
ofanewgasket(item7inFigure302).Installthenewgaskettothebrake
assembly.
3.Installthebrakeassembly;refertoInstallingtheBrakeAssembly(page6–9).
4.MakesurewheelmotorO-ring(item9inFigure302)isinpositionandsecure
wheelmotortoplanetarywithtwo(2)capscrewsandatwashers.
