GeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingtheHydraulic
SystemComponents
BeforeRepairingorReplacingtheComponents
1.Beforeremovinganypartsfromthehydraulicsystem,parkthemachineon
alevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdecks,shutofftheengine,settheparking
brake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Cleanthemachinebeforeyoudisconnect,remove,ordisassemblethe
hydrauliccomponents.
Note:Cleanlinessisnecessarywheneveryouworkonthehydraulic
equipment.Ensurethatyoucleanthehydrauliccomponents,hoses
connections,andttings.
CAUTION
Pressurizedhydraulicuidcancauseinjury.Operateallthe
hydrauliccontrolstoreleasethesystempressure.
OperatethecontrolswiththekeyswitchintheRUNposition
andtheengineshutoff.
Actuatealltheelectricallyoperatedcontrolvalves.
TurnthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionafterreleasingthe
pressure.
Removethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
3.Installcapsorplugsonthehydrauliclines,hydraulicttingsorcomponents
thatareleftopenorexposedtopreventhydraulicsystemcontamination.
4.Labelallthedisconnectedhydrauliclinesandhosesforproperinstallation
afterrepairsarecompleted.
5.Notethepositionofthehydraulicttings(especiallyelbowttings)onthe
hydrauliccomponentsbeforeremoval.
Note:Marktheparts,ifnecessary,andensurethattheyarealignedproperly
wheninstallingthehydraulichosesandtubes.
AfterRepairingorReplacingtheComponents
1.Checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthehydraulicreservoirandaddthecorrect
quantityofuidifnecessary.
IMPORTANT
Drainandllthehydraulic-systemreservoirandchangetheoillter
ifthecomponentfailureissevereorthesystemiscontaminated;
refertoFlushingtheHydraulicSystem(page4–96).
2.LubricatetheO-ringsandsealswithcleanhydraulicuidbeforeinstalling
thehydrauliccomponents.
3.Removeallofthecapsorplugsfromthehydraulictubes,hydraulicttings,
andcomponentsbeforeconnectingthemagain.
