IMPORTANT
Ifyoumustpushortowthemachineinthereversedirection,
hydraulicallybypassthecheckvalveinthe4-wheeldrivemanifold
byperformingthefollowing.
Partsneededforthisprocedure:Hydraulichose(PartNo.95-8843)—1
each,couplertting(PartNo.95-0985)—2each,andhydraulictting(PartNo.
340-77)—2each.
1.Connectthehydraulichosetothereversepressure-testport(MA)ofthe
tractionpumpwith1hydrauliccouplerand1hydraulictting.
2.Connecttheotherendofthehydraulichosetothemanifold-testport(G2)
(Figure47)ofthetractionpumpwith1hydrauliccouplerand1hydraulic
tting.
Ifyoumusttowthemachine,dothefollowingprocedure:
1.Findthebypassvalvesonthetractionpump;refertoFigure46.
2.Openbothbypassvalvesonthetractionpumpbydoingthefollowing:
A.Loosenthejamnutsatthestemoftheeachbypassvalve.
B.Rotatethestemsofthebypassvalves6fullturns.
C.Tightenthejamnuts.
3.Toworpushthemachineforwardasnecessary.Ensurethatyoudonot
exceedthespeedlimitordistancelimit;refertoTowingtheTractionUnit
(page4–7).
IMPORTANT
Usethetowoptiontobypassthehigh-pressurereliefvalves.Ifthe
hydraulictractioncircuitloseshydraulicuidorbecomestoohot,
catastrophiccomponentdamagecanoccur.
4.Afteryoumovethemachine,closebothvalvesasfollows:
A.Loosenthejamnutsatthestemofeachbypassvalve.
B.Fullytightenthestemsofthebypassvalves.
Note:Donotusemorethan11N∙m(8ft-lb)oftorquetoclosethe
bypassvalves.
C.Tightenthejamnuts.
Note:RefertotheOperator’sManualforadditionalinformationregarding
towingyourmachine.
TractionCircuitComponentFailure
ThetractioncircuitoftheGroundsmaster5900and5910machinesisaclosed
loopsystemthatincludesthepiston(traction)pumpand4-wheelmotors.Ifa
componentfailureoccursinthetractioncircuit,contaminationfromthedamaged
componentwillcirculatethroughoutthetractioncircuit.Thiscontaminationcan
damageothercomponentsinthecircuit,soremovethecontaminationtoprevent
additionalcomponentfailure.
