1.Removethecotterpinandslottedhexnutthatattachthetierodendstothe
steeringspindles.Separatethetierodendsfromthespindleandremove
thetierodfromthemachine.
Note:1ofthetierodballjointshasleft-handthreads.
2.Loosentheboltandlocknutandthenunscrewtheballjointfromthetierod.
3.Turntheballjointsequallyintothetierodsothatthecentertocenterlength
is1043.5to1046.4mm(41.080to41.200inches);refertoFigure310.
4.Cleanthetaperedsurfacesofthetierodballjointsandsteeringspindles.
5.Connectthetierodendstothesteeringspindleswiththeslottedhexnuts;
torquethenutsto48to67N∙m(35to50ft-lb).
6.Installthecotterpin.
7.Checkandadjusttherearwheeltoe-in.Aftertoe-iniscorrect,tightenthe
boltandlocknut.
Note:Thecorrectrearwheeltoe-inspecicationis0to3.05mm(0to0.120
inch).
8.Lubricatethetierodballjoints.
