bladebelts
Thebladedrivebelt,tensionedbythespringloaded
idlerpulley,isverydurable.However,aftermanyhours
ofuse,thebeltwillshowsignsofwear.Signsofaworn
beltare:squealingwhenbeltisrotating,bladesslipping
whencuttinggrass,frayededges,burnmarksandcracks.
Replacethebeltifanyoftheseconditionsareevident.
FrontCuttingUnit
1.Lowerthecuttingunittotheshopoor.Remove
thebeltcoversfromthetopofthecuttingunitand
setthecoversaside.
2.Onthefrontdeck,loosenthejamnutsontheidler
pulleystopscrewandthreadthestopscrewinto
thebracket(
Figure80).
3.Usingaratchetwrenchorsimilartool,movetheidler
pulley(
Figure80)awayfromthedrivebelttorelease
thebelttensionandallowthebelttobeslippedoff
thedeckpulleys.
