RemovingtheFrontDeckLiftArms
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdecks,shutoffthe
engine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Removethefrontcuttingdeck;refertoRemovingtheFrontCuttingDeck
(page8–7).
CAUTION
Failingtoproperlysupportthemachinewithjackstandscancause
themachinetomoveorfallandcanresultinpersonalinjury.
Properlysupportthemachinewithjackstands.
Whenchangingtheattachments,tires,orperformingotherservices,
dothefollowingsteps:
•Usecorrectblocks,hoists,andjackstoliftandsupportthe
machine.
•Parkthemachineonasolidlevelsurface,suchasaconcrete
oor.
•Beforeyouliftthemachine,removealltheattachmentsthat
mayinterferewiththesafeandcorrectliftofthemachine.
•Alwaysblockthewheelswithchocks.
•Useappropriatejackstandstosupporttheraisedmachine.
3.Blocktherearwheelswithchocksandliftthefrontofthemachinewithajack.
Supportthemachineonthejackstands.Removethefrontwheelthatisnext
totheliftarm;refertoRemovingtheWheel(page6–5).
4.Removetheange-headscrewandangenutthatattachtheliftcylinder
pin(item4inFigure317)totheliftarm.Removethepinandseparatethe
liftcylinderfromtheliftarm.
5.Removethelocknut(item24inFigure317)thatsecurestheliftarmpin
(item3inFigure317).
6.Supporttheliftarmandslidethepinfromtheframeandliftarm,andremove
theliftarmfromtheframe.
7.Asrequired,disassembletheliftarm(Figure317).
A.Removetheheight-of-cutchain.
B.Removethelocknut,atwasher,andsupporthubfromthetaperedstud
intheliftarm.
C.Removetheretainingringthatsecuresthesphericalbearinginthelift
arm.Removethetaperedstudwiththesphericalbearingfromthelift
arm.Separatetheangenutandsphericalbearingfromthestud.
D.Presstheangebushingsfromtheliftarm.Cleantheliftarmbore.
