3.Removethe8bolts(item3inFigure315)and8atwashers(item4in
Figure315)thatattachthebasemounts(item8inFigure315)tothecutting
deckconnection.
4.Raisetheliftarmenoughtofreethejointyokefromtheliftarm.Removethe
thrustwasher(item11inFigure315)andspacer(item10inFigure315)
fromtheyokeshaft.
5.Liftthejointyokeandbasemountsfromthedeckmount.
6.Locateandretrievetheshim(item7inFigure315)installedbetweeneach
basemountanddeckmount.
DisassemblingtheJointYoke
1.Removethesnapringsfromtheyoke.
IMPORTANT
Supporttheyokewhenremovingthecrossandbearingstoprevent
theyokedamage.
2.Pressthebasemountsfromthejointyoke.Slidethebearingsfromthejoint
yoke.
3.Useapresstoremovethecrossandremainingbearingsfromtheyokeas
follows:
A.Placeasmallsocketagainst1bearingandalargesocketagainstthe
yokeontheoppositeside.
B.Whileyousupportthelargesocket,applypressureonthesmallsocketto
partiallypushtheoppositebearingintothelargesocket.
C.Removetheyokefromthepress,holdthepartiallyremovedbearingand
tapontheyoketocompletelyremovethebearing.
D.Repeattheprocessfortheremainingbearing.
E.Cleanandinspectallthecomponents.
AssemblingtheJointYoke
1.Applyacoatofgreasetothebearingboresoftheyoke.Also,applygrease
tothebearingsandsealofthebearingassembly.
2.Press1bearingpartiallyintotheyoke.
IMPORTANT
Wheninstallingthecrossintothebearing,ensurethatyoudonot
damagethebearingseal.
3.Carefullyinsertthecrossintothebearingandyoke.
