RemovingtheEngineCoolingFanMotor(continued)
2.ReadtheGeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingtheHydraulic
SystemComponents(page4–95).
3.Unlatchthehoodandraiseit.
CAUTION
Ahotradiatorandoilcoolercancauseburns.
Allowtheengineandcoolingsystemstocoolbeforeworkingonor
nearthem.
IMPORTANT
Ensurethatyoudonotdamagetheradiator,oilcooler,orother
machinecomponentswhilelooseningandremovingthefanmotor.
4.Removetheairintakeboxfromthetopoftheradiatorassembly;referto
RemovingtheAirFilterSystem(page3–9).
5.Removethehexnut(item6inFigure172)andatwasher(item5inFigure
172)thatattachthefanhubandfanassemblytothefanmotor.
6.Useasuitablepullerandremovethefanhub(withfanattached)fromthe
fanmotorshaft.
Note:Ensurethatyoudonotdamagethefan.Positionthefanassembly
awayfromthefanmotor.
7.Disconnectthehydraulichosesfromthecoolingfanmotor.Installcapsor
plugsonthettingsandhosestopreventcontamination.Labelthehydraulic
linesforproperassembly.
8.Supportthefanmotortopreventitfromfalling,andremovethe2socket-head
screws(item1inFigure172)andlocknuts(item11inFigure172)thatattach
thefanmotortothefanmotorbracket.
9.Carefullylowerthefanmotorandremoveitfromthemachine.
10.Ifyouremovethehydraulicttingsfromthefanmotor,putamarkonthe
ttingorientationforcorrectassembly.
11.RemovethettingsfromthemotoranddiscardtheO-rings.
InstallingtheEngineCoolingFanMotor
1.Ifthettingswereremovedfromthefanmotor,lubricateandinstallnew
O-ringsontothettings.Toproperlyalignandinstallthettingsintothe
motorports,usethemarksthatyoumadewhentheywereremoved.Tighten
thettings;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThread
O-RingFittingintotheComponentPort)(page4–12).
IMPORTANT
Ensurethatyoudonotdamagetheradiator,oilcooler,orother
machinecomponentswhileinstallingthefanmotor.
