ServicingtheValveCartridge
1.Ensurethattheentireoutersurfaceofthemanifoldiscleanbeforeyou
removethevalve.
2.Ifthecartridgeissolenoid-operated,removethenutsecuringthesolenoid
coiltothecartridgevalve.Carefullyslidethesolenoidcoiloffthevalve.
IMPORTANT
Slightbendingordistortionofthestemtubecancausebindingand
malfunction.Carefullyhandlethevalvecartridge.
3.Removethecartridgevalvewithadeepsocketwrench.Notethecorrect
locationoftheO-rings,sealingrings,andback-uprings.
4.Removeanddiscardthesealkit.
5.Visuallyexaminetheportinthemanifoldfordamagedsealingsurfaces,
damagedthreads,andcontamination.Also,inspectthecartridgevalvefor
damagedsealingsurfacesandcontamination.
A.Contaminationcancausethevalvestostickorhangup.Contamination
canaccumulateinsmallvalveoricesorsealareasandcause
malfunction.
B.Ifthesealingsurfacesofthevalvearepittedordamaged,thehydraulic
systemcanbetoohotortherecanbewaterinthesystem.
CAUTION
Usetheeyeprotectionsuchasgoggleswhenusingthecompressed
air.
6.Useclean-mineralspiritsandcleanthecartridgevalve.Putthevalveinthe
clean-mineralspiritstoushoutcontamination.
IMPORTANT
Particlesasneastalcumpowdercanaffecttheoperationof
high-pressurehydraulicvalves.
Ifthecartridgedesignallows,useawoodorplasticprobeto
presstheinternalspoolinandoutfor20to30timestoushout
contamination.
Ensurethatyoudonotdamagethecartridge.Usethecompressed
airforcleaning.
7.Installthecartridgevalveasfollows:
A.Lubricatethenewsealkitcomponentswithcleanhydraulicuidand
installthemontothevalve.
B.InstalltheO-rings,sealingrings,andback-upringscorrectlyonthe
cartridgevalveforproperoperationandsealing.
