5. Position the idler to tension the traction control belt
and then tighten the nut to secure the idler position
(Fig. 020).

Note: The belt should have 1/2” of defl ection with 3
lbs. of pressure on the belt midway between
the transmission and engine pulley (Fig. 023).

7. Position the mower belt pulley onto the crankshaft
(Fig. 022).
6. Apply anti-seize compound to the engine crankshaft
(Fig. 021).
