PrimingtheFuelSystem
Primethefuelsystembeforestartingtheenginefor
thersttime,afterrunningoutoffuel,orafterfuel
systemmaintenance(e.g.,drainingthelter/water
separator,replacingafuelhose).
Toprimethefuelsystem,performthefollowingsteps:
1.Ensurethatfuelisinthefueltank.
2.Performthefollowingstepstoprimethelter
andthelinestothehighpressurepumpto
preventwearordamagetothepump:
A.CyclethekeytotheONpositionfor15to
20seconds.
B.CyclethekeytotheOFFpositionfor30to
40seconds.
Note:ThisallowstheECUtopowerdown.
C.CyclethekeytotheONpositionfor15to
20seconds.
D.Inspectforleaksaroundthelterandhoses.
Important:Donotusetheenginestartermotorto
cranktheenginetoprimethefuelsystem.

Disconnectthebatterybeforerepairingthe
machine.Disconnectthenegativeterminalrst
andthepositivelast.Connectthepositiveterminal
rstandthenegativelast.
Chargethebatteryinanopen,well-ventilated
area,awayfromsparksandames.Unplugthe
chargerbeforeconnectingordisconnectingthe
battery.Wearprotectiveclothinganduseinsulated
tools.

Condition
ServiceInterval:Every50hours
Important:Beforeweldingonthemachine,
disconnectthenegativecablefromthebatteryto
preventdamagetotheelectricalsystem.Also,
youmustdisconnecttheengine,InfoCenter,
andmachinecontrollersbeforeweldingonthe
machine.
Note:Keeptheterminalsandtheentirebatterycase
clean,becauseadirtybatterydischargesslowly.T o
cleanthebattery,washtheentirecasewithasolution
ofbakingsodaandwater.Rinsewithclearwater.
Coatthebatterypostsandcableconnectorswith
Grafo112X(skin-over)grease(ToroPartNo.505-47)
orpetroleumjellytopreventcorrosion.

1.Loosenthelatchforthecoveroftheright
storageboxandraisethecover(Figure61).

whichisfatalifconsumedandcauses
severeburns.
Donotdrinkelectrolyteandavoid
contactwithskin,eyes,orclothing.
Wearsafetyglassestoshieldyour
eyesandrubberglovestoprotect
yourhands.
Fillthebatterywherecleanwateris
alwaysavailableforushingtheskin.
