Understandingthe
OperatingCharacteristics
oftheMachine
Practicedrivingthemachinebecauseithasa
hydrostatictransmissionanditscharacteristicsare
differentthanmanyturfmaintenancemachines.
Somepointstoconsiderwhenoperatingthemachine
andmowerdecksarethetransmission,enginespeed,
loadonthecuttingbladesandtheimportanceofthe
brakes.
WithT oroSmartPower™,theoperatordoesnothave
tolistentotheenginespeedinheavyconditions.
SmartPowerpreventsboggingdowninheavyturf
byautomaticallycontrollingthemachinespeedand
optimizingcuttingperformance.
Anothercharacteristictoconsideristheoperation
ofthepedalsthatareconnectedtothebrakes.The
brakescanbeusedtoassistinturningthemachine.
However,usethemcarefully,especiallyonsoftor
wetgrassbecausetheturfmaybetornaccidentally.
Anotherbenetofthebrakesistomaintaintraction.
Forexample,insomeslopeconditions,theuphill
wheelslipsandlosestraction.Ifthissituation
occurs,depresstheuphillturnpedalgraduallyand
intermittentlyuntiltheuphillwheelstopsslipping,thus,
increasingtractiononthedownhillwheel.
Useextracarewhenoperatingthemachineon
slopes.Makesurethattheseatlatchisproperly
securedandtheseatbeltisbuckled.Driveslowlyand
avoidsharpturnsonslopestopreventrollovers.For
steeringcontrol,themowerdecksmustbelowered
whengoingdownhill.
Important:Allowenginetoidlefor5minutes
beforeshuttingitoffafterafullloadoperation.
Thisallowstheturbochargertocooldownbefore
shuttingtheengineoff.Failuretodosomaylead
toturbo-chargertrouble.
Beforeshuttingofftheengine,disengageallcontrols
andsettheenginespeedtoslow.Settingtheengine
speedtoslowreduceshighenginerpm,noise,and
vibration.TurnthekeytotheOFFpositiontoshutoff
theengine.
Operatingthe
Engine-CoolingFan
Theenginecoolingfanisnormallycontrolledbythe
machine.Themachinehastheabilitytoreverse
thefantoblowdebrisofftherearscreen.Under
normaloperatingconditions,themachinecontrols
thefanspeedanddirectionbasedoncoolantand
hydraulic-uidtemperature,andthefanautomatically
reversesdirectiontoblowdebrisofftherearscreen.
Areversecycleisautomaticallyinitiatedwheneither
thecoolantorhydraulic-uidtemperaturereachesa
specictemperature.
Youcanmanuallyreversethefanbypressingthe2
outerbuttonsoftheInfoCenterfor2seconds—thefan
completesamanuallyinitiatedreversecycle.Reverse
thefanwhentherearscreeniscloggedorpriorto
movingthemachineintotheshoporastoragearea.
