Understandingthe
OperatingCharacteristics
oftheMachine
Practicedrivingthemachinebecauseithasa
hydrostatictransmission,anditscharacteristicsare
differentthanmanyturfmaintenancemachines.
SmartPowerpreventsboggingdowninheavyturf
byautomaticallycontrollingthemachinespeedand
optimizingcuttingperformance.
Youcanusethebrakestoassistinturningthe
machine.However,usethemcarefully,especially
onsoftorwetgrassbecausetheturfmaybetorn
accidentally.Thebrakescanalsohelpyoutomaintain
traction.Forexample,onsomeslopes,theuphill
wheelcanslipandlosetraction.Inthissituation,
presstheuphillturnpedalgraduallyandintermittently
untiltheuphillwheelstopsslipping,thusincreasing
tractiononthedownhillwheel.
Useextracarewhenoperatingthemachineonslopes.
Makesurethattheseatlatchisproperlysecured
andthattheseatbeltisbuckled.Driveslowlyand
avoidsharpturnsonslopestopreventrollovers.For
steeringcontrol,lowerthecuttingunitswhengoing
downhill.
Important:Allowtheenginetoidlefor5minutes
beforeshuttingitoffafterafullloadoperation.
Thisallowstheturbochargertocooldownbefore
shuttingtheengineoff.Failuretodosomay
damagetheturbo-charger.
Beforeshuttingofftheengine,disengageallcontrols
andsettheenginespeedtoslowtoreducetheengine
speedtoslowreduceshighenginespeed(rpm),
noise,andvibration.TurnthekeytotheOFFposition
toshutofftheengine.
Operatingthe
Engine-CoolingFan
Theenginecoolingfanisnormallycontrolledbythe
machine.Themachinecanreversethefantoblow
debrisofftherearscreen.Undernormaloperating
conditions,themachinecontrolsthefanspeed
anddirectionbasedoncoolantandhydraulic-uid
temperature,andthefanautomaticallyreverses
directiontoblowdebrisofftherearscreen.Areverse
cycleisautomaticallyinitiatedwheneitherthecoolant
orhydraulic-uidtemperaturereachesaspecic
temperature.
Youcanmanuallyreversethefanbypressingthe2
outerbuttonsoftheInfoCenterfor2seconds—thefan
completesamanuallyinitiatedreversecycle.Reverse
thefanwhentherearscreeniscloggedorpriorto
movingthemachineintotheshoporastoragearea.
