3.IftheInfoCenterveriesthatthejoystickswitchesandcircuitwiringare
functioningcorrectly,nofurtherswitchtestingisnecessary.
4.IftheInfoCenterdeterminesthatthejoystickswitchesandcircuitwiringare
notfunctioningcorrectly,proceedwiththetest.
5.Removethecontrolarmcoverstogetaccesstothejoystickswitches;refer
toDisassemblingtheControlArm(page6–24).
6.EnsurethatthekeyswitchisintheOFFposition.Disconnectthewire
harnesselectricalconnectorsfromtheraiseandlowerswitchesonthe
joystickassembly.
7.Connectamultimeter(ohmssetting)acrosstheswitchconnectorterminals
tocheckthecontinuityoftheswitchesasfollows:
A.WiththejoystickintheNEUTRALposition,continuityshouldonlyexist
betweenthecommonandnormallyclosed(NC)terminals.
B.WiththejoystickintheRAISEposition(raiseswitch)orLOWERposition
(lowerswitch)continuityshouldonlyexistbetweenthecommonand
normallyopen(NO)terminals.
8.Replacetheswitchiftestingdeterminesthattheswitchisdamaged.
9.Iftheswitchtestingiscorrectandacircuitproblemstillexists,check
thewireharness;refertotheElectricalSchematicandWireHarness
Drawings/DiagramsinAppendixA(pageA–1).
10.Afteryoucompletethetesting,connectthewireharnessconnectorstothe
joystickswitches.
11.Securethecontrolarmcoverstothemachine;refertoAssemblingthe
ControlArm(page6–24).
