FlushingtheHydraulicSystem(continued)
IMPORTANT
Ifacomponentfailureoccursinthetractioncircuit;refertothe
TractionCircuitComponentFailure(page4–7)forinformation
regardingtheimportanceofremovingcontaminationfromthe
tractioncircuit.
1.Ensurethatthehydraulicuidisatnormaloperatingtemperatureby
operatingthemachineforatleast20minutes.
CAUTION
Beforeopeningthehydraulicsystem,operateallthehydraulic
controlstoreleasesystempressureandavoidinjuryfromthe
pressurizedhydraulicuid;refertoReleasingPressurefromthe
HydraulicSystem(page4–6).
2.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdecks,shutoffthe
engine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
Note:Ensurethatyoucleanallthehydraulicconnectionsthatare
disconnectedfordraining.
3.Drainthehydraulicuidfromthehydraulictank.Removethetankcap,
screenlter,andcleanthetank.Considerremovingandcleaningthe
reservoirifnecessary.
4.Cleantheareaaroundthemountingareasofthehydraulic-uidlters.
Removeandreplacethehydraulic-uidlters.
5.Inspectandcleanthehydraulictank;refertoInspectingtheHydraulicT ank
(page4–97).
6.Drainthecompletehydraulicsystem.Drainallthehoses,tubes,and
componentswhilethesystemiswarm.Flushthehosesandtubestoremove
anycontamination.
7.Ensurethatthemountingsurfacesofthehydraulic-uidltersareclean.
Applycleanhydraulicuidtothegasketonnewlters.Tightentheltersuntil
thegasketcontactsthemountingplate,thentightenthelter3quarters
ofaturn.
IMPORTANT
Usingotherhydraulicuidscoulddamagethehydraulicsystem.
UsethehydraulicuidsthatarespeciedintheOperator’sManual.
8.Fillthehydraulictankwiththecorrectquantityofnewhydraulicuid.
9.Primethehydraulicpumps;refertoPrimingtheHydraulicPumps(page
4–88).
10.Starttheengineandoperateitatlow-idlespeed(1,175to1,225rpm)for
aminimumof2minutes.Increasetheenginespeedtohighidle(3,005to
3,055rpm)foraminimumof1minuteundernoload.
11.Raiseandlowerthecuttingdecksseveraltimes.Turnthesteeringwheelfully
leftandrightseveraltimes.
