1.Thoroughlycleanthetractionunit,cuttingdecks,
andengine.
2.Checkthetirepressure.Inatealltractionunit
tiresto83to103kPa(12to15psi).
3.Checkallfastenersforloosenessandtighten
themasnecessary.
4.Greaseallgreasettingsandpivotpoints.Wipe
upanyexcesslubricant.
5.Lightlysandandusetouch-uppaintonpainted
areasthatarescratched,chipped,orrusted.
Repairanydentsinthemetalbody.
6.Servicethebatteryandcablesasfollows:
A.Removethebatteryterminalsfromthe
batteryposts.
Note:Alwaysdisconnectthenegative
terminalrstandthepositivelast.Always
connectthepositiveterminalrstandthe
negativelast.
B.Cleanthebattery,terminals,andpostswith
awirebrushandbakingsodasolution.
C.Coatthecableterminalsandbatteryposts
withGrafo112Xskin-overgrease(Toro
PartNumber505-47)orpetroleumjellyto
preventcorrosion.
D.Slowlyrechargethebatteryevery60days
for24hourstopreventleadsulfationofthe
battery.
PreparingtheEngine
1.Draintheengineoilfromtheoilpanandreplace
thedrainplug.
2.Removeanddiscardtheoillter.Installanew
oillter.
3.Relltheoilpanwithdesignatedquantityof
motoroil.
4.TurnthekeyintheignitionswitchtotheON
position,starttheengine,andrunitatidlespeed
forapproximately2minutes.
5.TurnthekeyintheignitionswitchtotheOFF
position.
6.Thoroughlydrainallfuelfromthefueltank,lines,
andthefuellter/waterseparatorassembly.
7.Flushthefueltankwithfresh,cleandieselfuel.
8.Secureallfuelsystemttings.
9.Thoroughlycleanandservicetheaircleaner
assembly.
10.Sealtheaircleanerinletandtheexhaustoutlet
withweatherprooftape.
11.Checktheantifreezeprotectionandaddas
neededforexpectedminimumtemperaturein
yourarea.
StoringtheCuttingDeck
Ifthecuttingdeckisseparatedfromthetractionunit
foranylengthoftime,installaspindlepluginthetopof
thespindletoprotectthespindlefromdustandwater.
