•Disconnectthebatterybeforerepairingthe
machine.Disconnectthenegativeterminalrst
andthepositivelast.Connectthepositiveterminal
rstandthenegativelast.
•Chargethebatteryinanopen,well-ventilated
area,awayfromsparksandames.Unplugthe
chargerbeforeconnectingordisconnectingthe
battery.Wearprotectiveclothinganduseinsulated
tools.
ServicingtheBattery
ServiceInterval:Every50hours
Performthefollowingtaskstoservicethebattery:
•Checkthebatterycondition
•Cleanthebattery(ifnecessary)
Note:Tocleanthebattery,washtheentirecase
withasolutionofbakingsodaandwater.Rinse
itwithclearwater.
•Checkthebattery-cableconnectionsandcoatthe
batterypostsandcableconnectorswithGrafo
112X(skin-over)greaseorpetroleumjellyto
preventcorrosion.
Important:Beforeweldingonthemachine,
disconnectthenegativecablefromthebatteryto
preventdamagetotheelectricalsystem.Also,
youmustdisconnecttheengine,InfoCenter,
andmachinecontrollersbeforeweldingonthe
machine.
LocatingtheFuses
Thereare8fusesintheelectricalsystem.The
fuseblock(Figure81)islocatedbehindthe
control-arm-accesspanel.RefertoFigure82fora
descriptionofeachfuse.
