AssistDPFRegeneration
•Theenginecomputeradjustsenginesettingsto
raisetheexhausttemperature.
•Whileoperatingthemachine,runtheengineat
fullenginespeedandhighloadwhenpossibleto
promoteDPFregeneration.
ResetRegeneration
CAUTION
Theexhausttemperatureishot(approximately
600°C(1,112°F)duringDPFregeneration.Hot
exhaustgascanharmyouorotherpeople.
•Neveroperatetheengineinanenclosed
area.
•Makesurethattherearenoammable
materialsaroundtheexhaustsystem.
•Nevertouchahotexhaustsystem
component.
•Neverstandnearoraroundtheexhaust
pipeofthemachine.

IftheenginehasnotcompletedasuccessfulReset,
Parked,orRecoveryregenerationintheprevious100
hoursofengineoperation,theenginecomputerwill
attempttoperformaresetregeneration.

ResetRegenerationOnly
Note:IfyousettheInfoCentertoinhibitregeneration,
theInfoCenterdisplaysADVISORY#185(Figure34)
every15minuteswhiletheenginerequestsareset
regeneration.

trees,brush,tallgrass,orothertemperature-sensitive
plantsormaterials,youcanusetheInhibitRegen
settingtopreventtheenginecomputerfrom
performingaresetregeneration.
Important:Whenyoushutofftheengineand
startitagain,theinhibitregensettingdefaultsto
OFF.
1.AccesstheDPFRegenerationmenu,pressthe
centerbuttontoscrolldowntotheINHIBITREGEN
option,andpresstherightbuttontoselectthe
InhibitRegenentry(Figure35).
