ServiceInterval:Every400hours
Checktheaircleanerbodyfordamagewhichcould
causeanairleak.Replaceifdamaged.Checkthe
wholeintakesystemforleaks,damageorloosehose
clamps.
Servicetheaircleanerlteronlywhentheservice
indicator(Figure27)requiresit.Changingtheairlter
beforeitisnecessaryonlyincreasesthechanceof
dirtenteringtheenginewhenthelterisremoved.

Important:Besurethecoverisseatedcorrectly
andsealswiththeaircleanerbody.
1.Pullthelatchoutwardandrotatetheaircleaner
covercounterclockwise(Figure28).

2.Removethecoverfromtheaircleanerbody.
Beforeremovingthelter,uselowpressure
air(40psi,cleananddry)tohelpremove
largeaccumulationsofdebrispackedbetween
outsideofprimarylterandthecanister.Avoid
usinghighpressureairwhichcouldforce
dirtthroughthelterintotheintaketract.
Thiscleaningprocesspreventsdebrisfrom
migratingintotheintakewhentheprimarylter
isremoved.
3.Removeandreplacetheprimarylter(Figure
29).
Cleaningoftheusedelementisnot
recommendedduetothepossibilityofdamage
totheltermedia.Inspectthenewlterfor
shippingdamage,checkingthesealingendof
thelterandthebody.Donotuseadamaged
element.Insertthenewlterbyapplying
pressuretotheouterrimoftheelementtoseat
itinthecanister.Donotapplypressuretothe
exiblecenterofthelter.
