1.Performthepre-maintenanceprocedure;refer
toPreparingtheMachineforMaintenance(page

2.Movethecuttingunitintopositioninfrontofthe
tractionunit.
3.Slidethecuttingunitcarrierframeontothe
lift-arm-pivotpinandsecureitwiththelynchpin
orretainingnut(Figure68).
4.Usingthehydraulic-motor-mountingscrews,
installthehydraulicmotortothecuttingunit
(Figure67).
Note:EnsurethattheO-ringisproperly
positionedandnotdamaged.
5.Greasethespindle.
ServicingtheBladePlane
Therotarycuttingunitcomesfromthefactorypreset
at5cm(2inches)height-of-cutandbladerakeof7.9
mm(0.31inch).Theleftandrightheightsofcutare
alsopresettowithin±0.7mm(0.03inch)oftheother.
Thecuttingunitisdesignedtowithstandblade
impactswithoutdeformingthechamber.Iftheblade
strikesasolidobject,inspectthebladefordamage
andthebladeplaneforaccuracy.
InspectingtheBladePlane
1.Removethehydraulicmotorfromthecutting
unitandremovethecuttingunitfromthetraction
unit.
Note:Useahoist(oraminimumof2people)
andplacethecuttingunitonaattable.
2.Markanendofthebladewithapaintpenor
marker.
Note:Usethisendofthebladetocheckall
heights.
3.Positionthecuttingedgeofthemarkedend
ofthebladeatthe12o’clockposition(straight
aheadinthedirectionofmowing)andmeasure
theheightfromthetabletothecuttingedgeof
theblade(Figure69).

4.Rotatethemarkedendofthebladetothe3
o’clockand9o’clockpositionsandmeasurethe

5.Comparethe12o’clockpositionmeasured
heighttotheheight-of-cutsetting.
