Grass Deflector
/
. If
The grass deflector (Fig. 2) is a safety device
that diverts grass and other foreign objects
being discharged downward.
WE STRONGLY
RECOMMEND THAT THE DEFLECTOR BE IN ITS
NORMAL OPERATING POSITION WHENEVER THE
CUTTING UNIT IS ENGAGED. NEVER OPERATE
CUTTING UNIT WITH THE DEFLECTOR REMOVED
FROM THE CUTTING UNIT OR TIED BLOCKED IN
A RAISED POSITION, SINCE THE BLADES COULD
THEN THROW DEBRIS A CONSIDERABLE DIS-
TANCE WITH SUFFICIENT FORCE TO CAUSE PER-
SONAL INJURY OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
the grass deflector is damaged, repair or re-
place the affected part(s).
NOTE: The deflector is spring loaded into its
downward normal operating position, but the
operator can temporarily swing it out of the
way to facilitate loading in a trailer or when
otherwise necessary.
