2. Install the Belleville washer oriented with the crown

up (Fig. 846).

3. Install the nut to secure the shift lever and washers

to the transmission shifter post. Torque the nut to 30

– 35 ft-lbs. (40.67 – 47.45 Nm) (Fig. 847).

5. Install 4 bolts to secure the shift plate to the trans-

mission (Fig. 849).

4. Position the shift plate assembly over the shift lever

and onto the transmission (Fig. 848).
