Servicetheprimaryair-cleanerlteronlywhenthe
serviceindicator(Figure51)requiresit.Changing
theairlterbeforeitisnecessaryonlyincreasesthe
chanceofdirtenteringtheenginewhenthelteris
removed.
Important:Besurethatthecoverisseated
correctlyandsealswiththeair-cleanerbody.
1.Checkthelterblockageindicator.Ifthe
indicatorisred,theairlterneedstobereplaced
(Figure51).

(40psi,cleananddry)tohelpremovelarge
accumulationsofdebrispackedbetweenoutside
ofthelterandthecanister.Avoidusinghigh
pressureairwhichcouldforcedirtthrough
thelterintotheintaketract.Removethe
coverfromtheair-cleanerbody.
Thiscleaningprocesspreventsdebrisfrom
migratingintotheintakewhenthelteris
removed.
