9.TheairconditioningsystemusesR134arefrigerant.Donotuseother
refrigerantsinthesystem.
Note:Thecapacityoftheairconditioningsystemis1.55kg(3.4lb)ofR134a
refrigerant.Thecapacityoftheairconditioningsystemoilis89ml(3oz).
10.Therefrigerantcontainers(eitherfullorempty)areunderpressureand
thepressureincreasesifyouheatthem.Donotexposetherefrigerant
containerstohigh-heatsourcesorame.
11.Ensurethattheworkareaisproperlyventilatedtopreventanyaccumulation
oftherefrigerantorotherfumes.
12.Ensurethatthecapsarealwaysplacedonthepressurehoseports.These
capspreventrefrigerantleakagefromthesystem.
13.Theairconditioningdrier-receivercomponentisusedtocollectmoisture
thatreducestheairconditioningperformance.Iftheairconditioning
systemisopenedforthecomponentrepairorreplacement,ensurethatthe
drier-receiverportsarepluggedtopreventdamagetothedrier-receiver.
Ifeitherthecompressororairconditioningexpansionvalveisreplaced,
replacethedrier-receiver.
14.Afteryouinstalltheairconditioningcomponents,haveacertiedair
conditioningservicetechnicianevacuatetheairconditioningsystem
completely,properlyrechargethesystemwithR134arefrigerant,andperform
theleaktestonthesystem.
