Whenservicingortroubleshootingtheengineelectricalcomponents,usethe
correctengineservicemanualandtroubleshootingmanual.Also,theYanmar
SMARTASSIST−Directelectroniccontroldiagnosticsservicesystemisavailable
tosupporttheerrordiagnosisandmaintenanceservicesofengineelectrical
controldevices.
CAN−busCommunications
Thetwo(2)TECcontrollers,theYanmarengineelectroniccontrolunitand
theInfoCenterDisplayusedontheGroundsmaster4000−Dand4010−D
communicatewitheachotheronaCAN−bussystem.Usingthissystemallows
thetractionunittofullyintegrateallthedifferentelectricalcomponentsofthe
tractor.TheCAN−bussystemreducesthenumberofelectricalcomponentsand
connectionsusedonthemachineandallowsthenumberofwiresinthewire
harnesstobesignicantlyreduced.Theintegrationofelectricalfunctionsalso
allowstheInfoCenterDisplaytoassistwithelectricalsystemdiagnostics.
CANidentiestheControllerAreaNetworkthatisusedbetweenthecontrollers
ontheGroundsmaster.Two(2)speciallydesigned,twistedwiresformthe
bus.Thesewiresprovidethedatapathwaysbetweenthecontrollers(theTEC
controllersandtheYanmarelectroniccontrolunit)andtheInfoCenterDisplay
usedonthemachine.TheengineeringtermforthesewiresareCANHighand
CANLow.Attheendsofthetwistedpairofbuswiresare120ohmtermination
resistors.Oneoftheseresistorsisincludedinthewireharnessandthesecond
isinsidetheengineECU.
EachofthecomponentsthatiscontrolledbytheCAN−buslinkneedsonlyfour
(4)wirestooperateandcommunicatetothesystem:CANHigh,CANLow,B+
(power)andground.TheCAN−busneedstheignitionswitchONinputforboth
theTECandengineECUtobeactivated.
