OnGroundsmaster4010−Dmachines,theturnsignalswitchisusedasaninput
fortheTECcontrollertoprovidepowerfortheturnsignals.Theswitchislocated
onthesteeringtower(Figure204).
Testing
1.Beforedisconnectingtheturnsignalswitchfortesting,theswitchandits
circuitwiringshouldbetestedasaTECinputwiththeInfoCenterDisplay
(seeInfoCenterDisplay(page6–6)).IftheInfoCenterveriesthattheturn
signalswitchandcircuitwiringarefunctioningcorrectly,nofurtherswitch
testingisnecessary.If,however,theInfoCenterdeterminesthattheturn
signalswitchandcircuitwiringarenotfunctioningcorrectly,proceedwithtest.
2.MakesureignitionswitchisOFF .Removekeyfromignitionswitch.
3.Removefrontsteeringtowercover(seeSteeringT ower(Formachinesserial
numberbelow:400000000)(page8–3)).
4.Locateturnsignalswitchandunplugwireharnessconnectorfromswitch.

5.TheswitchterminalsaremarkedasshowninFigure205.Thecircuitlogic
oftheturnsignalswitchisshowninthechartbelow.Withtheuseofa
multimeter(ohmssetting),theswitchfunctionsmaybetestedtodetermine
whethercontinuityexistsbetweenthevariousterminalsforeachposition.
Verifycontinuitybetweenswitchterminals.Replaceturnsignalswitchif
testingidentiesafaultyswitch.
