2.Raisethehoodtogetaccesstotheengineandairconditioningcompressor.
3.Removetheexhaustpipe;refertoExhaustSystem(Models30607,30609
and30636)(page4–30).
4.Loosentheangenutthatsecurestheidlerpulley.Movethepulleytoloosen
A/Ccompressordrivebelt.RemovethedrivebeltfromA/Ccompressorpully.
5.Inspectthecompressordrivebeltforglazingordamage.Replacethebelt
ifnecessary.
6.Disconnectthecompressorelectricalconnectorfrommachinewireharness.
7.ReadtheGeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingtheAir
ConditioningSystemComponents(page11–4).
CAUTION
Theairconditioningsystemisunderhighpressure.Donotloosen
anysystemttingorcomponentuntilafterthesystemhasbeen
completelydischargedbyacertiedA/Cservicetechnician.
8.HaverefrigerantevacuatedfromairconditioningsystembyacertiedA/C
servicetechnician.
9.Labelandremovehosesfromcompressor.Immediatelycaphosesand
ttingstopreventmoistureandcontaminantsfromenteringthesystem.
10.Supportthecompressortopreventitfromshiftingorfalling.
Note:Theremaybeshimsmountedbetweencompressorandcompressor
mount.Whenremovingcompressor,noteshimlocationandquantityfor
assemblypurposes.
11.Removefastenersandwashersthatsecurecompressortocompressor
mount.
IMPORTANT
Topreventcompressoroilfromllingthecompressorcylinders,
keepcompressorinthesameorientationastheinstalledposition.
12.Carefullyremovethecompressorfromengineandmachine.
Note:Thereplacementofthedrier−receiverisrecommendedwheneverA/C
compressorisremovedfromthesystem(seeHeaterandAirConditioning
EvaporatorCores(page11–23)).
Note:TheairconditioningcompressorusedontheGroundsmaster4010−D

1.Positioncompressortocompressormountonengine.
Note:Theclearancebetweenthecompressormountingangesand
compressormountmustbelessthan0.10mm(0.004in).Ifnecessary,
installshimsbetweencompressorangesandmounttoadjustclearance.
SeeCompressorPartsCatalogforshimkit.
2.Securecompressortocompressormountwithremovedfastenersand
spacers.Donotfullytightenfasteners.
