Chargethebatteryinanopen,well-ventilated
area,awayfromsparksandames.Unplugthe
chargerbeforeconnectingordisconnectingthe
battery.Wearprotectiveclothinganduseinsulated
tools.
ServicingtheBattery
ServiceInterval:Every25hours—Checkthe
electrolytelevel.(Ifthemachineis
instorage,checkitevery30days.)
Important:Beforeweldingonthemachine,
disconnectthenegativecablefromthebatteryto
preventdamagetotheelectricalsystem.
Note:Checkthebatteryconditionweeklyorafter
every50hoursofoperation.Keeptheterminalsand
theentirebatterycasecleanbecauseadirtybattery
willdischargeslowly.Tocleanthebattery,washthe
entirecasewithasolutionofbakingsodaandwater.
Rinsewithclearwater.Coatthebatterypostsand
cableconnectorswithGrafo112X(skin-over)grease
(ToroPartNo.505-47)orpetroleumjellytoprevent
corrosion.

shortagainstmetalcomponentscausing
sparks.Sparkscancausethebattery
gassestoexplode,resultinginpersonal
injury.
Whenremovingorinstallingthe
battery,donotallowthebattery
terminalstotouchanymetalpartsof
themachine.
Donotallowmetaltoolstoshort
betweenthebatteryterminalsand
metalpartsofthemachine.
