1.Parkthemachineonthelevelsurface,lowercuttingdecks,stopengine,
applyparkingbrakeandremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Removethesteeringcovertoallowaccesstothesteeringcontrolvalve.
3.Supportthesteeringtowertopreventitfromfalling.
4.ReadtheGeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingHydraulicSystem
Components(page5–83).
5.Topreventcontaminationofhydraulicsystemduringsteeringcontrolvalve
removal,thoroughlycleanexteriorofcontrolvalveandttings.
6.Forassemblypurpose,labelallthehydraulicconnections.Notetheport
designationsonthesteeringcontrolvalve.
CAUTION
Beforeopeninghydraulicsystem,operateallhydrauliccontrols
toreleasesystempressureandavoidinjuryfromthepressurized
hydraulicuid;refertoRelievingHydraulicSystemPressure(page
5–3).
7.Disconnectthehydrauliclinesfromthesteeringcontrolvalve.Allowthe
linestodrainintoasuitablecontainer.
8.Installcleancaporplugsonthehydrauliclinesandttingtoprevent
contamination.
9.RemovethesteeringcontrolvalvefrommachineusingFigure124asaguide.
10.Ifhydraulicttingsaretoberemovedfromsteeringcontrolvalve,marktting
orientationtoallowcorrectassembly.Removettingsfromvalveanddiscard
O-rings;refertoFigure125andFigure126.
