6.Disconnecthydrauliclinesfrommotor.Putcapsorplugsonmotorttings
andhydrauliclineopeningstopreventcontamination.
IMPORTANT
Beforelooseningfastenersthatsecurerearaxlemotor,support
motortopreventitfromfallingduringremoval.
7.RemovemotorfromrearaxleusingFigure110asaguide.
8.Ifhydraulicttingsaretoberemovedfrommotor,markttingorientationto
allowcorrectassembly.RemovettingsfrommotoranddiscardO−rings.
9.Ifnecessary,removetemperaturesender(item6)fromrearaxlemotor.
10.Ifnecessary,removepiniongear(item11)fromrearaxlemotorshaft.

Informationsectionofthischapterforinformationregardingthe
importanceofremovingcontaminationfromthetractioncircuit.
1.Ifttingswereremovedfromaxlemotor,lubricateandplacenewO−rings
ontottings.Installttingsintoportopeningsusingmarksmadeduringthe
removalprocesstoproperlyorientatettings.Tightenttings(seeInstalling
HydraulicHosesandTubes(O-RingFaceSeal)(page5–8)).
2.Iftemperaturesender(item6)wasremovedfromrearaxlemotor,thread
senderintomotorport.Torquesenderfrom12.3to14.9N·m(9to11ft−lb).
3.Ifremoved,installpiniongear(item11)toaxlemotor.Makesurethat
retainingringsarefullyseatedintothegroovesofthemotorshaft.
4.InstallO−ring(item9)ontomotor.Positionmotortorearaxleassemblyand
aligngearteeth.Slidemotorintoplace.
5.Securemotortoaxlewithcapscrewsandatwashers.
6.Removeplugsfrommotorttingsandhydrauliclineopenings.Usinglabels
placedduringmotorremoval,correctlyattachhydrauliclinestoaxlemotor
ttings(seeInstallingHydraulicHosesandTubes(O-RingFaceSeal)(page
5–8)).
7.Securewireharnessconnectortotemperaturesender(item6)onrearaxle
motor.
8.FillrearaxlegearboxwithSAE85W−140weightgearlube.Gearboxcapacity
isapproximately0.47liters(16.oz.).
9.Fillreservoirwithhydraulicuidasrequired.
10.Properlyllhydraulicsystem(seeChargeHydraulicSystem(page5–91)).
11.Afterassemblyiscompleted,verifythathydrauliclinesandttingsdonot
contactanything.
