Note:Priortotakingresistancereadingswithadigitalmultimeter,shortthe
metertestleadstogether.Themeterwilldisplayasmallresistancevalue
(usually0.5ohmsorless).Thisresistanceisduetotheinternalresistance
ofthemeterandtestleads.Subtractthisvaluefromthemeasuredvalue
ofthecomponentyouaretesting.
Note:Useaninfraredtemperatureinstrumenttomeasuretheoiltemperature.
4.Checkresistanceofthesenderwithamultimeter(ohmssetting)astheoil
temperatureincreases.
A.Themetershouldindicatefrom11.6to13.5kiloohmsat20ºC(68ºF).
B.Themetershouldindicatefrom2.3to2.5kiloohmsat60ºC(140ºF).
C.Themetershouldindicatefrom605to669ohmsat100ºC(212ºF).
D.Replacesenderifspecicationsarenotmet.
5.Afterallowingthesendertocool,installsender:
A.InstallnewO−ringonsender.
B.Installsenderintoportandtorquefrom12.3to14.9N·m(9to11ft−lb).
C.Connectwireharnessconnectortosender.
6.Checkandllhydraulicsystemtoproperlevel.
