8.Ifrequired,removetierodendsfromsteeringarmsonrearaxle(Figure258).
Removethecotterpinsandcastlenutsfromthetierodballjoints.Useaball
jointforkandremovethetierodendsfromtheaxlesteeringarms.
9.Supportrearaxletopreventitfromfalling.Removesix(6)capscrews,at
washersandlocknutsthatsecurerearaxlemounttomachineframe.Lower
rearaxleandrearaxlemountfrommachine.
10.Removelocknutandwasherfromrearaxlepinthatattachesrearaxleto
rearaxlemount.Removewasherheadscrewthatsecuresangeofrear
axlepintoaxlemount(Figure259).
11.Removerearaxlepinfromrearaxleandmount.Separaterearaxlemount
fromrearaxle.Notelocationofthrustwashers(items28and29)onboth
endsofaxlemountingboss.
Installation(Figure255)
1.Positionrearaxlemounttoaxle.Installthrustwashers(items28and29)
betweenaxlebossandaxlemount.Thethickerthrustwashershouldbe
installedonthehydraulicmotorendoftheaxle(towardtherearofthe
machine).Withwashersinstalled,thereshouldbefrom0.05mmto0.51mm
(0.002to0.020in)clearancebetweenrearaxlemountandaxlemounting
boss.Addthrustwashersifneededtoadjustclearance.
