Checkingthe
Safety-InterlockSwitches
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Themachinehasinterlockswitchesintheelectrical
system.Theseswitchesdisengageeitherthetraction
unitorthePTOwheneveryouleavetheseat.Ifyou
disengagethePTOandengagetheparkingbrake
beforeyouleavetheseat,theenginecontinuestorun.
1.Drivethemachineslowlytoalarge,openarea.
Lowerthecuttingunit,shutofftheengine,and
applytheparkingbrake.
2.Sitontheseatandpressthetractionpedal.Try
tostarttheengine.Theengineshouldnotstart.
Iftheenginestarts,thereisamalfunctioninthe
interlocksystemthatshouldbecorrectedbefore
beginningoperation.
3.Sitontheseat,starttheengine,andengage
thePTO.WhilesittingintheseatwiththePTO
engaged,risefromtheseat.ThePTOshould
disengageafteraslightdelay.IfthePTO
remainsengaged,thereisamalfunctioninthe
interlocksystemthatshouldbecorrectedbefore
beginningoperation.
4.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrakeand
starttheengine.Movethetractionpedaloutof
theNEUTRALposition.TheInfoCentershould
display“tractionnotallowed”andthemachine
shouldnotmove.Iftheenginedoesmove,there
isamalfunctionintheinterlocksystemthat
shouldbecorrectedbeforebeginningoperation.

Whilesittingintheseat,adjusttherearviewmirrorto
attainthebestviewouttherearwindow(Figure34).
Pulltheleverrearwardtotiltthemirrortoreducethe
brightnessandglareoflight.
Side-ViewMirrors
Whilesittingintheseat,havesomeoneassistto
adjusttheside-viewmirrorstoattainthebestview
aroundthesideofthemachine(Figure34).

4.Whileholdingtheassemblyinplace,carefullytilt
theheadlightdownward3°,thentightenthenut.
5.Repeattheprocedureontheotherheadlight.
