Testing
1.Beforedisconnectingawingdeckpositionswitchfortesting,theswitchand
itscircuitwiringshouldbetestedasaTECinputwiththeInfoCenterDisplay
(seeInfoCenterDisplay(page6–7)).IftheInfoCenterveriesthatthedeck
positionswitchandcircuitwiringarefunctioningcorrectly,nofurtherswitch
testingisnecessary.If,however,theInfoCenterdeterminesthatthedeck
positionswitchandcircuitwiringarenotfunctioningcorrectly,proceedwith
test.
2.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdeck(includingwingdecks),
stopengineandapplyparkingbrake.Removeswitchcoverfromdeckto
allowaccesstoswitchthatrequirestesting(Figure235).
3.TurnignitionswitchtotheONposition(donotstartengine)andcheckLED
oncableendofpositionswitches.LEDshouldbeilluminatedwhenthewing
decksarefullylowered.
4.Startengine,fullyraisewingdecksandthenstopengine.Then,turnignition
switchtotheONposition(donotstartengine)andcheckLEDoncableend
ofpositionswitches.LEDshouldnotbeilluminatedwhenthewingdecks
arefullyraised.
5.Lowerwingdecksandthenstopengine.
6.IfapositionswitchLEDdidnotfunctioncorrectly:
A.MakesurethatignitionswitchisOFFanddisconnecttheswitchconnector
fromdeckwireharness.
B.Usingamultimeter,verifythatwireharnessconnectorterminalforpink
wirehas12VDCwhentheignitionswitchisON.
C.Makesurethatgapbetweenendofpositionswitchandboltheadonwing
decklinkwhenthewingdeckisloweredisfrom1.8to3.3mm(0.070
to0.130in)(Figure236).
D.IfpinkwirehassystemvoltagepresentandgapiscorrectbutswitchLED
didnotfunction,replacepositionswitch.
7.Aftertestingiscomplete,makesurethatswitchconnectorispluggedinto
deckwireharness.Installswitchcovertodeck.
