Theseatswitchisnormallyopenandcloseswhentheoperatorisontheseat.
ThisswitchisusedasaninputfortheTECcontroller.Theseatswitchandits
electricalconnectorarelocatedintheseatassembly.Ifthetractionsystemor
PTOswitchisengagedwhentheoperatorraisesoutoftheseat,anoperator
advisorywillbedisplayedontheInfoCenter.T estingoftheswitchcanbedone
withoutseatremovalbydisconnectingtheswitchwirefromthemachinewire
harness(Figure194).
Testing
1.Beforedisconnectingtheseatswitchfortesting,theswitchanditscircuit
wiringshouldbetestedasaTECinputwiththeInfoCenterDisplay(see
InfoCenterDisplay(page6–7)).IftheInfoCenterveriesthattheseat
switchandcircuitwiringarefunctioningcorrectly,nofurtherswitchtestingis
necessary.If,however,theInfoCenterdeterminesthattheseatswitchand
circuitwiringarenotfunctioningcorrectly,proceedwithtest.
2.MakesurekeyswitchisOFF .Removekeyfromkeyswitch.
3.Disconnectseatswitchconnectorfromthemachinewireharnessconnector.
4.Checkthecontinuityoftheswitchbyconnectingamultimeter(ohmssetting)
acrosstheseatswitchconnectorterminals.
5.Withnopressureontheseat,thereshouldbenocontinuitybetweenthe
seatswitchterminals.
6.Pressdirectlyontotheseatswitchthroughtheseatcushion.Thereshould
becontinuityastheseatcushionapproachesthebottomofitstravel.
7.Iftestingdeterminesthatseatswitchisfaulty,replaceseatswitch(see
OperatorSeatService(page8–27)).
8.Connectseatswitchconnectortowireharnessconnectoraftertestingis
complete.
