FlushHydraulicSystem
IMPORTANT
Flushthehydraulicsystemanytimethereisaseverecomponent
failureorthesystemiscontaminated.Contaminatedoilmayappear
milkyorblackormaycontainmetalparticles.
IMPORTANT
Ifacomponentfailureoccurredintheclosedlooptractioncircuit
(e.g.pistonpumporwheelmotor),lteringthetractioncircuitis
recommended.SeeFilteringClosed−LoopTractionCircuit(page
5–89).
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface.Lowercuttingdeckstotheground,stop
engineandapplyparkingbrake.Removekeyfromthekeyswitch.
WARNING
Beforedisconnectingorperforminganyworkonthehydraulic
system,allpressureinthesystemmustberelieved.SeeRelieving
HydraulicSystemPressure(page5–3).
IMPORTANT
Makesuretocleanaroundanyhydraulicconnectionsthatwillbe
disconnectedfordraining.
2.Drainhydraulicreservoir.Removesuctionscreenfromreservoirandclean
thoroughly.Considerremovingandcleaningreservoirifnecessary.
3.Drainhydraulicsystem.Drainallhoses,tubesandcomponentswhilethe
systemiswarm.
4.Changeandreplacebothhydraulicoillters.
IMPORTANT
Followalllocalcodesandregulationswhenrecyclingordisposing
hydraulicuidandlters.
5.Inspectandcleanhydraulicreservoir(seeHydraulicReservoir(page5–93)).
6.Connectallhydraulichoses,linesandcomponentsthatweredisconnected
whiledrainingsystem.
IMPORTANT
Whenllinghydraulicreservoir,useonlyhydraulicuidsspecied
inOperator’sManual.Otheruidscouldcausesystemdamage.
7.Fillhydraulicreservoirwithnewhydraulicuid.
