Makesurethatsidecuttingdeckisfullyloweredbeforeloosening
hydrauliclinesfromsidedeckliftcylinder.Ifdeckisnotfullylowered
ashydrauliclinesareloosened,deckmaydropunexpectedly.
3.Removedeckcoversasneededtoallowaccesstoliftcylinderhosesand
fasteners.
4.Topreventcontaminationofhydraulicsystemduringliftcylinderremoval,
thoroughlycleanexteriorofcylinderandhosettings.
Note:T oeaseinstallation,labelthehydraulichosestoshowtheircorrect
positionontheliftcylinder.
5.Disconnecthydraulichosesfromliftcylinderandputcapsorplugsonopen
hydraulichosesandttings.Labeldisconnectedhydraulichosesforproper
installation.
6.Removecapscrewandlocknutthatsecuretheliftcylinderclevistothe
wingdeck.
7.Removelocknutandatwasherfromthetaperedstudonthebarrelendof
theliftcylinder.
8.Removeliftcylinderfromdeckassembly.
9.Removesphericalbearingsfromliftcylinderclevisends,ifrequired.
A.Onshaftclevis,removeretainingringandthenpresssphericalbearing
fromclevis.
B.Onbarrelclevis,removeretainingringandthenpresstaperedstudwith
sphericalbearingandangenutfromclevis.Removeangenutand
thensphericalbearingfromstud.

1.Ifremoved,installsphericalbearingsintoliftcylinderclevisends.
A.Onshaftclevis,presssphericalbearingintoclevisandsecurewith
retainingring.
B.Onbarrelclevis,installsphericalbearingontaperedstudandsecurewith
angenut.T orqueangenutfrom41to54N·m(30to40ft-lb).Install
studwithsphericalbearingintoclevisandsecurewithretainingring.
2.Thoroughlycleantaperedsurfacesofliftcylinderstudandmountingboss
ondeck.
3.Positionliftcylindertocuttingdeck.Inserttaperedstudintodeckmounting
boss.Securestudwithatwasherandlocknut.T orqueangenutfrom
217to244N·m(160to180ft-lb).
4.Insertcapscrewfromthefrontofthedeckthroughthedeckbracketsand
cylindershaftclevis.Securecapscrewwithlocknut.Torquelocknutfrom
217to244N·m(160to180ft-lb).
5.Removecapsandplugsfromttingsandhydraulichoses.Usinglabels
placedduringcylinderremoval,properlyattachhydraulichosestoliftcylinder
(seeInstallingHydraulicHosesandTubes(O-RingFaceSeal)(page5–8)).
6.Installallremoveddeckcovers.
