8.Airconditioningrefrigerantoilcapacitymustbedeterminedandreplenished
duringreassembly/vacuum/recharge.
9.Failuretoaddressthecontaminationintheclosedloopsystemwillresult
inearlycompressorfailure.
10.Notethepositionofthettings(especiallyelbowttings)beforeremoval.
Note:Marktheparts,ifnecessary,andensurethattheyarealignedcorrectly
wheninstallingthehosesandtubes.
11.AlwaysuseaDOTapprovedtanktostoretheusedandrecycledrefrigerants.
12.TheairconditioningsystemusesR134arefrigerant.Donotuseother
refrigerantsinthesystem.
Note:Thecapacityoftheairconditioningsystemisapproximately0.8kg
(1.75lb)ofR134arefrigerant.
13.Therefrigerantcontainers(eitherfullorempty)areunderpressureand
thepressureincreasesifyouheatthem.Donotexposetherefrigerant
containerstohigh-heatsourcesorame.
14.Ensurethattheworkareaisproperlyventilatedtopreventanyaccumulation
oftherefrigerantorotherfumes.
15.Ensurethatthecapsarealwaysplacedonthepressurehoseports.These
capspreventrefrigerantleakagefromthesystem.
16.Theairconditioningdrier-receivercomponentisusedtocollectmoisture
thatreducestheairconditioningperformance.Iftheairconditioning
systemisopenedforthecomponentrepairorreplacement,ensurethatthe
drier-receiverportsarepluggedtopreventdamagetothedrier-receiver.
Ifeitherthecompressororairconditioningexpansionvalveisreplaced,
replacethedrier-receiver.
17.Afteryouinstalltheairconditioningcomponents,haveacertiedair
conditioningservicetechnicianevacuatetheairconditioningsystem
completely,properlyrechargethesystemwithR134arefrigerant,andperform
theleaktestonthesystem.
