2.Cleanallpartswithsolvent.Dryallpartswithcompressedair.

3.Inspectdrivegearsandidlergearsforthefollowing(Figure137):
A.Gearshaftsshouldbefreeofroughsurfacesandexcessivewearat
bushingpointsandsealingareas.Scoring,roughsurfacesorwearon
gearshaftsindicatesneedforreplacement.
B.Gearteethshouldbefreeofexcessivescoringandwear.Anybrokenor
nickedgearteethmustbereplaced.
C.Inspectgearfaceedgeforsharpness.Sharpedgesofgearswillmillinto
wearplatesand,thus,mustbereplaced.
4.Inspectwearplatesforthefollowing:
A.Bearingareasshouldnothaveexcessivewearorscoring.
B.Faceofwearplatesthatareincontactwithgearsshouldbefreeofwear,
roughnessorscoring.
C.Thicknessofwearplatesshouldbeequal.
5.Inspectfrontangeandbodyfordamageorwear.

Note:Whenassemblingmotor,checkthemarkerlineoneachparttomake
surepartsareproperlyalignedduringassembly.
1.LubricateO−rings,pressureseals,back−upgasketsandwearplategrooves
withathincoatofpetroleumjelly.Lubricateallotherinternalpartsfreely
withcleanhydraulicoil.
2.Installnewsealsintofrontange(Figure136).Noteorientationofseallips
duringinstallation:
A.Pressshaftsealintofrontangeuntilitreachesthebottomofthebore.
B.Installangewasherintofrontangeandtheninstallretainingringinto
thegrooveofthefrontange.
