CheckingtheGearBox
Lubricant
ThegearboxisdesignedtooperateonSAE80-90
wt.gearlube.Althoughthegearboxisshippedwith
lubricantfromthefactory,checkthelevelbefore
operatingthecuttingunit.
1.Positionthemachineandcuttingunitonalevel
surface.
2.Removethedipstick/llplugfromthetopof
thegearbox(
Figure12)andmakesurethatthe
lubricantisbetweenthemarksonthedipstick.If
thelubricantlevelislow,addenoughlubricantuntil
thelevelisbetweenthemarks.

UsingtheGrassDeector
DANGER
Withoutthegrassdeectormountedinplace,you
andothersareexposedtobladecontactandthrown
debris.Contactwiththerotatingmowerblade(s)
andthrowndebriswillcauseinjuryordeath
•Neverremovethegrassdeectorfromthe
mowerbecausethegrassdeectorroutes
materialdowntowardtheturf.Ifthe
grassdeectoriseverdamaged,replaceit
immediately.
•Neverputyourhandsorfeetunderthemower.
•Neveroperatethemowerwiththedeector
removedfromthecuttingunitortied/blocked
inaraisedposition.
Note:Thedeectorisspringloadedintoitsdownward
normaloperatingposition(
Figure11),buttheoperator
cantemporarilyswingitoutofthewaytofacilitate
loadinginatrailerorwhenotherwisenecessary.
