3. Install the nut to secure the shift lever and washers

to the transmission shifter post. Torque the nut to 30

– 35 ft-lbs. (40.67 – 47.45 Nm) (Fig. 1118).

4. Position the shift plate assembly over the shift lever

and onto the transmission (Fig. 1119).

2. Install the Belleville washer oriented with the crown

up (Fig. 1117).

5. Install 4 bolts to secure the shift plate to the trans-

mission (Fig. 1120).
