1.Lookatthesideofthebattery.Theelectrolytemust
beuptotheupperline(Figure35).Donotallowthe
electrolytetofallbelowtheLowerline(Figure35).

AddingWatertotheBattery
Thebesttimetoadddistilledwatertothebatteryisjust
beforeyouoperatethemachine.Thisletsthewatermix
thoroughlywiththeelectrolytesolution.
1.Removethebatteryfromthemachine;referto
RemovingtheBatteryin,page.
Important:Neverllthebatterywithdistilled
waterwhilethebatteryisinstalledinthe
machine.Electrolytecouldbespilledonother
partsandcausecorrosion.
2.Cleanthetopofthebatterywithapapertowel.
3.Removetheventcapsfromthebattery(Figure35).
4.Slowlypourdistilledwaterintoeachbatterycell
untiltheelectrolytelevelisuptotheUpperline
(Figure35)onthebatterycase.
Important:Donotoverllthebatterybecause
electrolyte(sulfuricacid)cancausesevere
corrosionanddamagetothechassis.
5.Waitvetotenminutesafterllingthebatterycells.
Adddistilledwater,ifnecessary,untiltheelectrolyte
levelisuptotheUpperline(Figure35)onthe
batterycase.
6.Reinstallthebatteryventcaps.
ChargingtheBattery
Chargingthebatteryproducesgassesthatcan
explode.
Neversmokenearthebatteryandkeepsparks
andamesawayfrombattery.
