1.DisengagethePTOandsettheparkingbrake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Unlatchandremovethecarrierframecover.
4.Unlatchandremovethebeltcovers.
5.Removetheheatshieldfromtheenginedeckand
carrierframe.
6.Rollthebeltoffofthecenterpulleyonthemower
deck(Figure47).RefertoFigure48torollthebelt
offleftpulleyfora36inchmowerdeck.Usecaution
whenremovingthebeltastensionwillincrease
becauseofthespringloadedidlerpulley.
7.Removethebeltfromtheenginepulleyandthe
springloadedidlerpulley(Figure47).Referto
Figure48toremovethebeltfromthe36inchmower
deckpulleys.
8.Installthenewbeltontotheenginepulleyandspring
loadedidlerpulley(Figure47).
9.Rollthebeltontothecenterpulleyonthemower
deck(Figure47).Usecautionwheninstallthebelt
astensionwillincreasebecauseofthespringloaded
idlerpulley.RefertoFigure48torollthenewbelt
ontotheleftpulleyfora36inchmowerdeck.
10.Installtheheatshieldtotheenginedeckandcarrier
frame.
11.Adjustthebeltguidean1/8inch(3mm)fromthe
beltfor40,48and52inchmowerdecks(Figure47).
12.Installthebeltcoversontothecuttingunitand
securethelatches.
13.Installthecarrierframecoverontothecarrierframe
andsecurethelatches.
