Traction Drive Belt Replacement

Traction Drive Belt Removal

1. Remove the mower spindle drive belt. Refer to:

“Mower Spindle Drive Belt Belt Removal (36” Mower

Deck)” on page 8-4, or “Mower Spindle Drive Belt

Belt Removal (40”, 48”, 52” and 60” Mower Decks)”

on page 8-1.

2. Unplug the clutch from the wire harness (Fig. 1049).

4. Remove the bolt, nut, 2 washers and spacer secur-

ing the brake clutch strap to the underside of the

chassis (Fig. 1051).

3. Push the clutch wire plug and grommet through the

engine deck frame (Fig. 1050).
