DrainingtheFuelTank
DANGER
Incertainconditions,gasolineisextremely
ammableandhighlyexplosive.Areorexplosion
fromgasolinecanburnyouandothersandcan
damageproperty.
Draingasolinefromthefueltankwhenthe
engineiscold.Dothisoutdoorsinanopenarea.
Wipeupanygasolinethatspills.
Neversmokewhendraininggasoline,andstay
awayfromanopenameorwhereasparkmay
ignitethegasolinefumes.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,toassurefueltank
drainscompletely.
2.Disengagethepowertakeoff(PTO),settheparking
brake,turntheignitionkeytooff,andremovethekey.
3.Closethefuel-shutoffvalveatthefueltank(Figure35).
4.Squeezetheendsofthehoseclamptogetherandslide
itupthefuellineawayfromfuellter(Figure35).
5.Pullthefuellineoffthefuellter(Figure35).
6.Openthefuel-shutoffvalveandallowthegasolineto
drainintoagascanordrainpan.
Note:Nowisthebesttimetoinstallanewfuellter
becausethefueltankisempty;refertoReplacingthe
FuelFilter(page29)
7.Installthefuellineontothefuellter.
8.Slidethehoseclampclosetothevalvetosecurethe
fuelline.
9.Wipeupanyspilledfuel.

themawayfromthelter(Figure36).
