1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotioncontrolleversto
theneutrallockedposition,andsettheparkingbrake.
2.MovethethrottlelevertotheSlowposition,stopthe
engine,removethekey,andwaitforallmovingpartsto
stopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Placealargepanunderthehydraulicreservoirand
transmissioncaseandremovetheplugs,drainingallof
thehydraulicuid(
Figure67).

5.Immediatelyinstallanewhydraulicoillter.

8.Starttheengineandcheckforoilleaks.Allowthe
enginetorunforaboutveminutes,thenshutitoff.
9.After2minutes,checkthelevelofthehydraulicuid;

WARNING
Ifyouraisethemachineusingonlyajacktosupport
itwhileyouworkunderthemowerdeck,thejack
couldtip,causingthemowerdecktofall,crushing
youorbystanders.
Alwayssecurethemachinewithatleast2jack
standswhenyouhavethemowerdeckraised.
CAUTION
Onthetopofthemowerdeckare2linksthat
connectthemtotheframe.Connectedtotheselinks
aretorsionspringthatareundertension(Figure
68
).Ifyoudisconnectthelinkthestoredenergyin
thetorsionspringwillbereleasedandcouldcause
thelinkstomove,damagingyourhandsorngers.
Carefullyremovethemowerdeckfromtheframe
andsecurethelinksbeforedisconnectingthem
fromtheframe.
